Unusual Pets

Pet bear and moose were not unusual among the families and workers in Alaska in the 1800s and 1900s. The Digital Archives of Alaska contains numerous photos of familes with baby bear cubs in an infant's buggy, moose raised by bottle or harnessed to a buggy.
