Alaska writers of all ages are invited to submit a postcard of their
own design, writing about their favorite place in Alaska. Tell us, in
100 words or less, what makes your home, your community, your
classroom, your favorite fishing spot, or even your bookshelf a great
Alaskan place. Postcards must include a picture of the favorite Alaskan
place of the author's design, whether it be an original photograph,
collage, or drawing. Note: because of copyright restrictions, we cannot
accept entries using pictures from magazines or other protected
materials. Winning postcards will be published on LitSite Alaska twice
a year, and their creators will be awarded prizes.Submissions should
include: your age group (preschool, elementary, middle school, high
school, or general public), and a mailing address where we can send
your prize should your entry be selected as a winner.
How to Send Us Your Work
There are three ways you can submit your work: by email, mail, or hand delivery.
- E-mail us your postcard entry to litsite@uaa.alaska.edu. If possible, we prefer attached documents formatted in Word and either JPEG or TIF files for photos and illustrations.
- Mail the hard copy, including photos, drawings, and writings to: LitSite Alaska, University of Alaska Anchorage, Business Education Building, Suite 119, 3211 Providence Drive, Anchorage, AK 99508. Include a self-addressed, stamped envelope if you wish to have your original materials returned to you.
- Hand deliver a hard copy of your materials to Suite 119 in the Business Education Building at UAA.
