Martin Luther King, Jr.
By John and Robin
Genre: Non-fiction Level: Elementary 4-6
Category: Student Examples

Martin Luther King Jr. was a leader for the civil rights movement. He fought and broke unfair laws peacefully and won the Nobel Peace prize. He helped change the unfair segregation laws and made it so whites and blacks could go to the same facilities. He was a fantastic speaker, and thousands of people would often come to listen to him talk about Civil Rights. Martin Luther King Jr. led a boycott of buses in Montgomery, Alabama, that lasted a year and resulted in everyone being able to sit anywhere on a bus. The civil rights movement wouldn't have succeeded without Martin Luther King Jr.
