There was once a village named the Upala village, which means "the playful place." Everyone there was very happy and playful until one day an evil spirit took all the happiness and playfulness away. No one remembered how good it felt to have happiness except one little girl named Emma. Now Emma hated to see everyone so mad so she decided to leave home and find the evil spirit and get the happiness back. So she went home, gathered her things and left without a word.

Emma walked and walked until she was very tired. She fell asleep by a rock and had a dream. In the dream, there was a fairy and she said, "Beware! The spirit can play tricks on you. So be careful."

Suddenly Emma woke up. Her mind told her that her dream was true, but she didn't believe it because dreams are hardly ever true. Emma got up and started walking to find the evil spirit. Then she saw a deer mouse and the deer mouse said, "Help! My baby is trapped in the middle of a fire!" Emma ran with the deer mouse. When they came to the fire, Emma could not see the baby. But suddenly she remembered what the fairy had said. Somehow she knew that the deer mouse was a trick! Emma grabbed the deer mouse and swung him around.

Well he didn't like being swung, so he turned himself into a wolf. But Emma said, "I won't stop until you give me the village's happiness!" The spirit said, "Okay" and in a pouf they were at the spirit's home. But then, the spirit said, "AHA! I got you!" Emma was tricked. Just then the spirit started yelling and Emma asked, "Why are you yelling?'"

The spirit said, "I can't stand the happiness voices in this house." Emma thought for a moment and then said, "I can make them go away." The spirit was so happy he jumped for joy and asked, "How?"

Emma said, "Give them to me."

So the spirit said, "Sure."

Emma gave the happiness voices back to the village and they lived happily ever after.
