Alcoholism
By Kate Alversado

All it took was one drink

It filled the missing link

My life went downhill fast like water running down a sink

In a blink, alcohol ruined everything

My job

My mind

My family

My friends

I do anything for the next best thing

Two bottles of vodka wasn't enough

I'm losing the battle but I didn't even try

I feel miserable without drinking

I know people who have lost the fight

I'm just waiting for alcohol to take mine

Maybe I will come closer to the finish line with a bullet in my head
