Tourism grows

ASL-P44-05-081

By the 1930s, tourism had grown due to the Alaska Railroad's line to Mount McKinley National Park. The McKinley Park Road, which ran 90 miles from Mount McKinley Park Station to the Wonder Lake area, was used from 1923 to 1938. Mt. McKinley Tourist & Transportation Company, the sole operator, shuttled tourists through the park. Alaska State Library.
