The lady at the right is called Black Fox after an animal of that name that she once trapped. The women are just starting on the trail with their packtrain of dogs to bring to camp the caribou that the men have killed. The poles are tent poles carried because of lack of timber back from the river. A cache is in background, with equipment including snowshoes.
