The village of Central

The village of Central, photographed in the late 1920s, lies at Mile 130 Steese Highway. With its roots steeped in gold mining, Central remains a log cabin town largely populated by mining families and others in the industry. University of Alaska Anchorage, Library and Manuscripts.
