Why Do I Have to Have You, PTSD?
By Sam Bosarge
Genre: Poetry

In shadows deep where silence dwells,

A haunting echo softly tells,

Of battles fought, both near and far,

In hidden scars, the memories are.

A heart that races, a breath held tight,

In quiet rooms, the ghost ignites.

A flash of light, a distant sound,

The past returns, no peace is found.

The mind replays the throes of fear,

A heavy weight that draws so near.

Yet through the storm, a flicker glows.

A spark of hope that gently grows.

With every step, the journey starts,

To mend the wounds, to heal the hearts.

In strength, we rise, though shadows stay,

Together we find our brighter day.

So let us speak, let voices soar,

For healing comes when we explore.

In unity, we break the chain,

Transforming grief to love's refrain.
