How Northern Lights Saved Alaska
By Alana Morse
Genre: Fiction

Once, long long long ago there was a reindeer named Sunset. She was called this because she was surprisingly pink! Even her antlers were pink! Her owner was named Alana. Sunset lived in a magic land called Alaska where blueberries covered the tundra. But there was one problem. The problem is: There are no blueberries this year! At least the salmonberries are out and the nutritious moss. (Moss is one of Sunset's favorite foods). But blueberries are her favorite food. I wonder what to do. Hmmmmm......I know!!!!

I jarred some blubbery jam. It's basically the same....right? Guess what? It didn't' work. I thought I was a genius. Oh! I forgot, not just reindeer but all animals can't have sugar! "Oh no!". I ran to the kitchen as fast as I could. I went to where I kept the cookbooks. I search for the medicine book. I found it. "Aha I found it! The Cure is: One jar of northern lights."

Even in Alaska northern lights are rare. I guess I will have to go on a long journey. I packed my bag and started my journey. First, I passed through the valley of creative coyotes. When I went through the valley of creative coyotes it was scary because it was very dark, and I could only see the glowing eyes of coyotes. I was so very tired when I was there, and I didn't want to stay the night there. Great I'm almost there...."phew."

I made it to where I am planning to camp and find the northern lights. I am camping in the meadow of the northern lights! But like I said, even in Alaska there are not northern lights every night. So, I waited and waited. Finally! Northern lights! I grabbed the jar and danced while I gathered the northern lights. But first I need some sleep. I woke up early but it was light enough. When I went through the valley of creative coyotes it was light and peaceful. I made it home and when I was home, I gave my cure to Sunshine, and she said, "Thank you."
