Primary Colors
By Abigail Raven
Genre: Poetry Level: Elementary 4-6
Year: 1996 Category: UAA/ADN Creative Writing Contest

None of these primary colors,
For they are too brilliant to say.
The only colors that matter
Are green,
Green and gray.
Certainly not deep within,
But surely not quite outside,
These funny little colors,
They do hide,
They do hide.
Oh green and gray,
Green and gray,
Best friends,
Green and gray.
Gray for the rain and rainclouds
And green for the tender leaves.
