Sally's Important Thing
By Sally
Genre: Non-fiction
Category: Student Examples

locketMy locket is a family heirloom that has been passed down from generation to generation on my dad's side of the family. All my dad's family is Italian. My great-nonna (Italian for grandmother) gave it to my nonna, my nonna gave it to my dad, and my dad gave it to me.

My locket is something very important to me. It is the only thing I have that reminds me of my great-nonna. I never got to see my great-nonna, because she died before I was born. So my locket is the only thing I have of her.

I plan to keep the locket to pass it on to my kids when they are old enough to handle it carefully. I will give it so my youngest child, because I am the youngest child in my family.

I do not wear my locket because I am too scared that I will lose it. If I lost it, in a way, I would lose my great-nonna. This locket is the only thing I have of her. I would like to keep it as long as possible.

I want to take the locket into a jewelry shop so I can put some pictures in it of my nonna and my nono (Italian for grandfather). I cannot do it myself because it is very fragile, and I don?t want to accidentally break it.

I do not have any pictures of my great-grandparents, so I will use some of my grandparents. This way my children can see what their great-grandparents looked like.

I keep my locket in a guardian angel box with cotton all around it to keep it safe. I will keep it in the box until I either have some reason to wear it or until I think my child can take proper care of it.

This is why my locket is important to me.
