Disneyland
By Kevin Vania
Genre: Non-fiction
Category: Student Examples

The most memorable day of my life was when my family and I went to Disneyland Park in California. We stayed in a brand new hotel directly across from Disneyland, and we could see people screaming on the rides from our hotel window. I got up early and woke my family up; we had a small breakfast, and then we took a tram that led to the gates of the park. My parents paid admission for us to enter the park, and then we took a small train to Critter Country (an area inside the park). There were almost no lines, so we wandered over to Splash Mountain, which turned out to be my absolute favorite ride. I loved to watch the funny little mannequins throughout the ride, but my favorite part of the entire ride was when we plunged down the steep drop into a huge pond of water. It was so much fun!

I even liked to go on some "little kid" rides with my sister, but when something would pop out or even if scary music played, she would freak out and cry! My family and I spent the whole day at the park, and I remember trying to get the perfect gift for each one of my friends but it was so hard! My sister, on the other hand, spent the whole day trying to get an autograph from every Disney character in the park.

This was probably the weirdest thing that has ever happened; my family and I were all getting something to eat at this restaurant when we just happened to see our good friends from Anchorage, Alaska, waiting in line! My family spent the rest of the day with our friends. It was starting to get late, but I told my parents I had to see the parade! They decided to wait, and boy I'm glad we did! The parade was so pretty and also extremely funny. The rides in the park were starting to close so we decided to hit the hay, but first we got some candy from this huge candy store and took the same tram ride back to the hotel.

Back at the hotel I ate a small, but delicious, dinner, and then I got to go swimming! Since the hotel was so new, the pool was still freezing cold, but I had a blast anyway. That was a day I will never forget!
