Ryan

The Cay, by Theodore Taylor

You are on a boat, fleeing an island during World War I, then BANG! You have been torpedoed and you're going down fast. Out of the blue you get thrown overboard then everything goes black. When you come to you see you're on a makeshift raft with a cat and an old black man. The next day comes and you wake up, blink your eyes but you have gone blind and your only hope is a black deckhand from the boat you were just on. Then land is sighted, a few minutes later you step onto soft moist sand and realize you are on a tiny island in middle of the Devils Mouth with sharks, hurricanes and sharp coral all around. How will you ever escape?

I was hooked on this book by the first chapter and it just kept getting better and better and better. After reading this book it instantly became a favorite in my mind and I am sure it will be one of yours.
