Ella B. Vernetti School, Koyukuk

students from kindergarten through the tenth grade, the Ella B.
Vernetti School is located in Koyukuk, Alaska. The school's Web page
does not specifically address the school library, but we include it
here because it offers lots of stories about what it's like to live in
the Koyukon Athabaskan village of Koyukuk. Visit this site to learn
more about the community-school projects Ella B. Vernetti students
participated in during the years 1993-1998. View many student stories
and drawings (many made by students right on their computers!) as you
learn more about subsistence fishing and hunting, dog-mushing, and the
stories Koyukon children are told by their elders.

Heeni Middle School doesn't have a library site, but what it does have
is a great description of what it calls Literature Circles. Forming a
literature circle is a great way to read a book and learn about it with
