First nonstop flight from Seattle to Alaska

Pilot Anscel Eckmann flew the first nonstop flight from Seattle to Alaska in a Lockheed Vega pontoon plane in the fleet of Alaska-Washington Airways, a Juneau-based business. The pilot autographed this photo to Territorial Governor George A. Parks and dated it May 15, 1929. Alaska State Library.
