Scotty Allan's team is pictured in Nome racing in the 1915 All-Alaska Sweepstakes. Founded by the Nome Kennel Club, the first Sweepstakes was held in 1908, as entrants followed the telegraph line between Nome and Candle on the northern edge of the Seward Peninsula.
