Baldy was no classic Husky, but the mongrel led Scotty Allan's team in the All-Alaska Sweepstakes eight times, finishing first in 1909, 1911, and 1912, three times in second, and twice in third. Allan took home $25,000 in prize money in 1909. Alaska State Library.
