The earliest buildings on Government Hill

AMRC-b78-14-74
The earliest buildings on Government Hill were wall tents and log cabins. Pictured here in July 1915 is the U & I Lunch Room & Bakery, and an office for a lawyer/notary public named Condon. The log cabin on the right was the first residence on Government Hill, belonging to Joe Curten. Anchorage Museum of History and Art, Library and Archives.
