Eva and her pet owl

Photographer Lawyer Rivenburg's notes: "Eva and her young owl. It was caught young and is about half-grown in the picture. Notice Eva's beaded moose-skin gloves. She is wearing them here to protect her hand from the beak of the owl." The image dates from 1910-1912, when Rivenburg lived in Rampart and Stevens Village. Archives, University of Alaska Fairbanks.
