The Curry Hotel

AMRC-b64-1-694

The Curry Hotel was built in 1923, offering lavish overnight accommodations for upscale tourists headed to the park. The grounds included a swimming pool, golf course, and tennis courts. In winter months, the Curry Hotel attracted Alaskans with its ski tow and floodlights for night skiing, as well as dances every night, making it a popular retreat for Army and Air Force officers and their wives. After the hotel burned in 1956, it was not rebuilt. Anchorage Museum of History and Art, Library and Archives.
