John Brynteson is seated in his 1902 wedding portrait

ASL-Brynteson-1

John Brynteson is seated in his 1902 wedding portrait in San Francisco. A note accompanying the photo did not name the bride, but identified a few others in the image: "The Native children were sort of adopted by Brynteson and brought to California," it read. "The girl's name was Kycha. To Brynteson's left was my uncle Alfred Anderson; to his left my mother at age 18, Naemi Anderson. The marriage was performed by my mother's father, Rev. Carl Anderson, Mission Covenant Church of San Francisco." Alaska State Library.
