ASL-TongassVillage-2 This image of the houses and totem poles at Tongass Village, ca. 1888-89, includes the famed Raven pole at far right. In 1899 alone, Tongass Village lost perhaps 17 poles to members of the Harriman Expedition, and another to the "P-I Excursion."
