Sole road

This September 1938 image of the sole road in what was then called Mount McKinley National Park was taken by photographer Ray B. Dame. For Parks Highway travelers who enter the park, now known as Denali National Park & Preserve, the spur road leads to the mining community of Kantishna. Anchorage Museum of History and Art, Library and Archives.
