Katalla oil fields family

This early 1920s portrait of a Katalla oil fields family is noted on the reverse: "They drill Alaska's oil wells. The man in the middle is Tom White, the Sourdough driller. He drilled the first oil well in Alaska. The woman is his wife, and the boy his son." Archives, University of Alaska Fairbanks.
