Artemis
By Lola Whitman
Genre: Poetry Level: Elementary 4-6
Category: UAA/ADN Creative Writing Contest

Artemis is strong-willed and cunning,

daughter of Leto and Zeus.

Twin sister to Apollo the vain,

she is quite focused despite her name.

Wild and fierce, she takes no abuse.

Born on the floating island of Delos,

she helped deliver her brother.

Protector of the hunt,

she is known for being quite blunt.

Independent and firm, strong like her mother.

Thank you Artemis,

thank you for protecting young children,

the hunt, and moon.

I hope to meet you one day soon.
