Pieces
By Torrie Lewis
Genre: Poetry Level: Elementary 4-6
Year: 2004 Category: Margaret Mielke Memorial Poetry Award

The shock of being struck
by lightening
torn asunder by thunder?s boom
screamed at by relentless wind,
and
choked by the heat of the
earthquake?s wake.
Abuse feels like this.
What is left of my life are the
pieces.
