The referee, yeah, I know he
called on me
beads of perspiration roll down
my face.
My opponent? I'll show him his
place!
Suddenly the butterflies wake,
my stomach feels queasy,
something I can't take!
He lands a kick, right on the dot,
ooh, that hurts, my face feels hot!
A technicolor breeze
rolls in my face,
a blackout! Not light left,
not a trace
I give up and swallow my pride,
the best I can do
second place.
I shake his hand
and he shakes mine
The referee, yeah,
I know he called on me,
That's why I'm going to
do better this time.
