Morgan S.'s Postcard from Alyeska

Morgan S.'s drawing

December 2002

Dear Dad,

My favorite place is Alyeska because I love skiing and snowboarding. Alyeska means hot chocolate too! Alyeska isn't far from my house and that is a privilege.

The fresh snow feels so fluffy and smells so sweet. The snow tastes so tasteless. I like the way I can only hear the swishing of the snow beneath my feet. The sight of the mountains in the background is beautiful. On the slopes I watch snowboarders doing 360s, flips, turns, and other stunts. If I think about it my toes and fingers freezing are a wonderful thought too.

Love,
Morgan S.
