Alaska Is My Home
By Leah Hardenbergh
Genre: Poetry Level: Elementary 4-6
Year: 2006 Category: UAA/ADN Creative Writing Contest

Moose is munching on the trees,
Wolves are howling in the breeze,
Minus twenty-two degrees,
Alaska is my home.

Bear is growling at the moose,
Wolves are running on the loose,
Needles falling off the spruce,
Alaska is my home.

Snow is piling up, up, up,
Seal is nursing tiny pup,
Sipping cocoa from a cup,
Alaska is my home.
