In My Dream
By Raelena Smith
Genre: Poetry Level: Elementary 4-6
Year: 2000 Category: UAA/ADN Creative Writing Contest

In my dream I see my best friends,
and they are a nice bunch of friends.

My dreams will live everlasting.

In my dream I see snowflakes go in a trash can.
The snowflakes scared me saying, "Boo!"
The goats eat at Thanksgiving time.
The sunset gives me a message: "Together heartship."

My dreams will live everlasting.

My eyeglasses are filled with ice cream.
They mix with my cry-baby tears.
My lapel pins look like books.
They go with my hair scrunchies, and
My pop and candy makes me shine.
In my dream I am playing basketball with my mom and family.

My desk at school is filled with cotton clothing, and
My house is filled with trucks and cars,
My fishcamp is in Nash Harbor on Nunivak Island.
My snowmachine is my dogsled, and
My fourwheeler.

My dreams will live everlasting.

In my dream, my tiny toy stool-chair is clipped on my paper clip!
My snowpants are battered and baked with my cupcake.
My desktop is filled with dryfish.

Bugs Bunny's popcorn tail got shut up in a mouse hole.
My apple is mixed with ape-lice! (That is SO-O-O GRO-O-O-SE!)
Heather's and my troll-book Big Book turned into a bear.
And the brook looks like a cook's hat.

In the old days their dreams lived everlasting, so
They could dream on to another dream.
