Impressions of the Museum
By Kirsten Merrell
Genre: Poetry Level: Junior 7-9
Year: 1996 Category: UAA/ADN Creative Writing Contest

coiling, writhing pots
angry dark shadowed faces
red-lipped blondes
old real faces
shining shadows
red profiles
mud crusted clay shoes
"Thixotropic Cavaclades"
a Mercedes peace sign
jazzed rose man
unnatural sonnets
pipe cleaner shoes
ceramic balloon dogs
real green plants
dewy foggy man

Tomorrow's in the glove compartment

old, little girl
wise faces
masks peeled away

"This isn't gang stuff.
It's just ART.
Please let me paint."
